Weaving

This project translates the cinematic tension and nocturnal palette of Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks into a tactile series of handwoven textiles. By deconstructing the painting’s iconic fluorescent greens and deep mahogany reds, I developed a collection of rhythmic stripe variants that mirror the urban geometry of the scene. The process evolved from structural paper weaving experiments to a technical loom setup, resulting in a suite of diverse weaves that balance the rigid, lonely lines of Mid-Century Realism with the organic softness of fiber art.
